Welcome to Computer Science! Triad Math & Science Academy Ms. Day, Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint & Robotics Teacher [email protected]
This letter is an introduction to my classes here at Triad Math & Science Academy which will include Computer Science courses. Your son/daughter will be in my class this year to learn the principles for using Microsoft Excel/MicrosoftPowerPoint, which will entail the students’ creativity and innovation, communication and collaboration, research and information, fluency, critical thinking, problem solving technology operations and concepts. The first 9 weeks, we will concentrate on using Microsoft Excel to create and manage worksheets/workbooks. We will also learn how to create cells, and cell ranges while using the tables.
The second nine weeks will consist of applying formulas for specific functions. The students will use this skill to create charts or objects for the final project. The second semester students will learn how to use the newest version of Microsoft PowerPoint interface, commands, and features to create, enhance, customize, and deliver presentations. After the students have successfully completed these two classes, we will use the last quarter of the class to begin the Introduction to Robotics, using a software program that can be implemented with use of techniques developed throughout use of the computer throughout the year.
Materials needed for this class are a 1 inch binder/or just a pocket folder. The binder should only go home when students need to study for a test. This will enable organization for all handouts, study guides, and student work.
